on the NaBloPoMo bandwagon

Since this blog has only been around for 10 years (!), I suppose it’s time for me to hop on:
NaBloPoMo November 2012

My poor little blog. I’m usually too busy with Twitter or Facebook or the other blogs I write for (my course blogs and the Parents Beyond Belief blog I help edit) that this little piece of my cyberspace is oft-neglected. It’ll be fun to see if I can get in the discipline of writing a post every day for a month!

Let’s see — for today I’ll give a quick update post on what I’ve been up to lately.

Jerry and I joined a new gym together: GoodLife Fitness. Over the last decade here in Saskatoon, I’ve been a member of many gyms — and this one is the nicest, I think. It’s huge, the machines are numerous, it’s all so clean, and there’s childcare that Emma really enjoys! So, we’re sold. I’ve even been working with a personal trainer over the last few months, so I’m actually starting to develop some muscle.

I’m also playing indoor soccer again this year, for my team Vandelay Industries. (bonus marks if you get the reference) I’m not as much of a fan of the indoor league as the outdoor, but it’s fun to get out every other weekend and chase after a ball.

Hey, which reminds me! So far I have not had ANY Hallowe’en candy. Not a single piece. I’m hoping to keep this up — maybe if I keep bragging about it online it’ll make me follow-through and not succumb.

In Emma news, she’s now officially a READER! Right now her favorite book is “Hop on Pop.”  Jerry has been really great and patient with her as she sounds out each word. Her and I are still working through Charlotte’s Web, but right now she’s so excited about being able to read herself that EB White has been put on hold for a bit.

Later this month is Jerry’s big 42nd birthday (the answer to life, the universe, and everything!), and to celebrate we’re going to see Leonard Cohen again in concert. Sooooo excited!

Other than that, everything is pretty much the same ol’ here — right now is the super busy time of the year at school, which means I should probably stop blogging and get back to the pile of papers waiting for me to finish before bedtime.

Back here tomorrow! If you can think of any good writing prompts for me to use in the next 30 days, I would appreciate it. 🙂

  1. I’ve can’t manage to publish a comment on here. First, because I couldn’t get the box that proves I’m human to work. Which might explain why I get all your nerdy references, including 42. It’s looking like I may be a robot.

Except a robot would be able to pull off one simple comment on one little blog post, and I can’t seem to manage it. After I got the box to check I forgot to copy and paste the password, and had to start all over AGAIN. (This is my fourth attempt. Four is my favourite number, so this better work.)

Now I’m all off-track. All I wanted to say was, I’m so happy you’re on the wagon. I like it when we Beckies are samers.

    One more try?
