In the Shenandoah Mountains of Virginia, that is.

There’s a different feeling that comes over this grrrl when she crosses over the 49th parallel to her homeland.

Since I only get “home” once or twice a year, I try to take advantage of it as much as possible — going to my favorite restaurants, haunts, stores, and enjoying the fact that my accent is not out of place and I can say “yessir” and “yes ma’am” without getting the odd look.

So far on the agenda is playing outside in the country, going strawberry picking, and leaving the babe with grandma and grandpa (“Diva” and “Poppa”) so I can see Indy and Sex and the City.

Next week we are off to see Auntie and Uncles in the Big City, NYC. There’s a whole other agenda set for that trip, but we’ll talk more about that later.
